blessings 41-45 (Nashville Version)

Blessing 41 - Leaves rustling in the wind.
Don't think I ever really payed much attention to the sound, but today... wow. What an Awesome God I serve. I'm trying to learn to consciously see His blessings in the mundane, nitty, gritty, confusing thing we call life. I'm realizing that it is there - I just have to find it. The leaves rustling in the wind were amazing. Gently falling to the ground - all different colors. Like little birds - It was as if they were choreographed to move with the music on the Christian Radio station that I was listening to in the car. Probably the best red light I've ever been at...

Blessing 42 - Leaves changing color.

Yes - it has the same subject as the last blessing, but it deserves a blessing of its own. Growing up in Texas, you miss the changing colors. You see them in Calendars, tv shows, movies - but it is totally different to see in real life. Beautiful. Just Beautiful. Again - He is pretty awesome to create such fantastic scenery.

Blessing 43 - Fly Babies Store at the Nashville Airport.
What a fun little store. I love finding stuff for Gus and they had the perfect "little monster" hat for him! Can't wait to see him in it. (they also had a fun little onesie that I purchased - it will be fun to show gus' pops! :) Not sure if he will wear it out of the house, but it will be fun, nonetheless)

Blessing 44 - Neat parks and beautiful homes to gaze at after work...

Blessing 45 - An on-time flight with (as usual) always friendly attendants to get me quickly home to my baby Gus!

blessings 35-40 (hotel version)

Blessing 35 - the HUGE amount of pillows that are on the bed

Blessing 36 - the miraculous way that the bed is made, the room is clean and my shampoo and conditioner are always full when I come home from work

Blessing 37 - wooden hangers. who wouldn't be grateful for wooden hangers?

Blessing 38 - wake-up calls. I need a phone at home that I can program to call and wake me in the morning.

Blessing 39 - I love how there are plugs all over the place - close to the bed. This allows me to charge my phone and computer while using them while IN bed!

Blessing 40 - free made-to order breakfasts. Hilton Garden Inns are my new favorite home away from home. Well, favorite right after the duck hotel...

already at blessing 27...

Teaching myself to find the blessing and beauty in everything is hard work. It's easy to be thankful when I say my prayers or when something good happens, but being consciously grateful throughout the day is difficult. But, I will press on. I will find beauty and joy in the mundane!

Blessing 27 - living is an age where we are able to travel at over 300 miles an hour. No matter how often I fly, I'm still amazed to realize that I am drinking coke at 34,000 feet while flying through the air at over 300 miles an hour. wow.

Blessing 28 - clean, clear, crisp, sunny days. I love summer, but there is something surreal about a crisp autumn day. So clean - so clear - so sunny - yet, crisp and cool.
Today, my taxi driver decided to take a different route from Oklahoma City to Norman - no highways involved. Probably one of my favorite taxi rides ever! Riding on back roads, passing huge ranches and seeing the horses and cows enjoy the beautiful weather that God gave them is so peaceful. The sky seemed bluer, the grass greener and the animals - happy. josanna - blessed.

Blessing 29 - chocolate chip cookies - warm and fresh - awaiting my arrival at the hotel

I'm getting better...

It has only been a week since my last post. Much better than the month before! Life is getting hectic, but I prefer hectic, so no worries.
I'm back working, Daniel is busy working at the church and studying his classes and Gus is learning to make lots of noise. (and kick everything in sight)

This week, I was blessed to get to spend some time with my sweet friend Jennifer and her baby Sophie. Such fun was had at the expense of 2 - 5 month old babies. Augustus and Sophie are going to be such great buddies! (blessing 23)

I am so grateful for friends that are there through thick and thin... Jennifer is such a great friend and a blessing in my life. I'm excited to see what fun God has in store for us!

Augustus is at Camp Mimi and I am off to Oklahoma for work tomorrow. I am thankful for my parents. (blessing 24,25)
They are so helpful with Augustus - taking him at a moments notice and just "throwing" him into their life. I am so thankful for their love of children and ability to make anyone a part of their homelife instantly. I love that no matter what is going on, they take him as their own. I guess they do this because I am one of their own - Gus must get in based on my credentials. :) Then again, they do this with any kid - kids pretty much get in with my parents based on God's credentials - which is such a cool thing. I am so thankful that my parents raised me to know that family is the most important. Period.
I love that he is able to spend days with them and is able to be influenced by their godly, calm and laid-back ways. Although life at Verdepais Ranch is always insane and everything changes with the wind - Mom and Dad are able to remain calm and know that it will work out. (while remaining to smile)
I've learned so many things from them and I pray that I am able to teach Gus the same:
  • With God everything is possible.
  • Trust is priceless.
  • Life is life.
  • Things could always be worse.
  • When everything is crazy - remain calm - it will get better.
  • You are stuck with family - whether you like it or not.
  • This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.
I'm thankful for the lessons learned (blessing 26) and looking forward to learning more...

thankful...

I'm thankful for a Heavenly Father that is so forgiving...

My goal was to post pictures on a daily basis of things for which I am grateful. (key word in that sentence - "goal")

I've been very grateful, but very busy. Learning to travel for work while a cute little one hangs at home at Campy Daddy is not so easy... The past month has flown by.
Augustus is getting larger by the moment and I hate that I miss moments of it. But, thankfully I live in an age where technology allows me the ability to check in on Camp Daddy at a moment's notice.

So - here is a list of a few things I've been thankful for over the last few weeks:

  • Augustus' smile when he hears IZ sing "over the rainbow" (09)
  • How fast airplanes get me home at the end of a trip (10)
  • The way the moon looks from a window seat at 30,000 feet (11)
  • Skype... (12)
  • Southwest Rapids Rewards Credit (13)
  • Getting to see friends from Spain - if only for a few days (14)
  • Billy the camera (15)
  • Spending time with Jed (16)
  • Watching Augustus and Jed make each other smile (17)
  • How God works in such amazing ways in our lives on a daily basis (18)
  • Jinon, Mia and Abi - and the godly man that God recently brought into their life :) (19, 20, 21, 22)
